There are two courses attached to Watanabe Laboratory:Department of Advanced Interdisciplinary Studies(AIS: Doctoral course) and Department of Technology Management for Innovation(TMI: Masters / Doctoral course),which was establishied in 2006. Both courses have a research guidance policy that promotes an interdisciplinary approach based on multifaceted knowledge and viewpoints.
It is our belief that post-graduate Masters and Doctorate these research is not just high-level specialist competence in specialist fields through theses. By providing students with exposure to a wide range of knowledge and experiences from society,we encourage students to pursue a multidisciplinary approach. This enables them to clarify future career objectives in order to utilize knowledge and ability gained. We believe that education is not merely the impartation of knowledge and information, but rather the creation of an environment that can utilize this to the maximun.
These courses also offer mature-age students the opportunity to make use of the skills and experience they have gained through their professional careers, and as such, we particularly welcome mature-age students from technology-related backgrounds looking to advance or change their careers.
